Looking For Some Cowboys

I recently purchased this wonderful book, Growing Up Sew Liberated. I have to say I am a little in love with the author. I want to eat her brain. (with a little Chianti and fava beans)
Ok, really, I don't like Chianti and fava beans but I do love this book. Let me give you a little book review and then we can get on to the good stuff, like my bragging.
She was/is a mother and a Montessori teacher. Her projects have purpose, not only would they show off your mad sewing skillz but she incorporates teaching, education and developing your child. There were too many projects to pick from but I finally chose to do what was on the cover, the tee pee tent. My niece's birthday is coming up and we are flying out to celebrate it, amongst other things and I thought, what would be more fun than a tent to hide out in? Anyone have any better ideas?
It didn't take much time to make and I bought the upholstery fabric for $3 a yard. The whole project cost about $20, which includes the pipes. Once I figured out the pattern, because you have to make your own, I plowed right through it. This being the Summer of Perpetual Visitors 2011, I wanted to have the majority of the tent done so I wouldn't have to deal with a huge sewing mess while everyone was coming in and out of my home. I decided that this tent would be my prototype and this week I will be making another. All I need is one comment saying that you want me to do a tutorial and you will get it.

Can you guess who is the Indian? I actually climbed in there and tried it out. It was big enough for me (in the fetal position) and Eva sitting on my chest while feeding me popcorn. We did end up seeing some cowboys but they were going to the beach to go surfing. I love outdoor play with my daughter. It develops her senses and teaches her to feel responsible for her surroundings. We go out every day. We spend a lot of time at the beach. This is going to be a perfect little changer and shade for when we go exploring tide pools and sea shell hunting.
